Sad

My boss’s dog, Boston died this weekend. They’re not sure what caused it, whether she ate something reactive, had a tick that passed a disease, or if she just had an annurism. But, no matter how it happened, Kristy is dealing with some deep tears today. Boston had been with Kristy for years and years…longer than her new baby girl, longer than her marriage to Kirk…Boston was a fixture for her. I used to think people were odd for humanizing their pets. Lately, I’ve seen just how good animals can be for people and how lovingly they interract with us silly humans. I still don’t condone dressing dogs up for more than weddings and Halloween, but loving a pet so much that mourning is natural, that I can understand and support. I’m so sorry for Kristy’s loss, but I’m grateful for the question of, “What happens to our pets when they die?” Jon answers that for me with another question of his own, but it’s a comforting one…When WE die, would it be heaven without THEM? Of course not!
